Who will sit the Iron Throne at the end of Game of Thrones? That’s the question on a lot of people’s minds heading into the final season of the show. HBO is thinking about it, too. After all, it’s made the official hashtag for season 8 “#ForTheThrone.”
It’s also of interest to the gambling community. Think about it: If you bet a ton of money on a long shot like Hot Pit ruling Westeros in the end, and it actually happens, you will clean up. Bookies have long given odds on Game of Thrones questions, with “Who will sit the Iron Throne in the end” being one of the most popular. For a while now, betting site OddsShark had Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen as the favorites, but just this week, a dark horse took the lead:
That’s proper: Bran Stark is now the favourite “to be the ruler of Westeros” when the present is over. Note that the guess isn’t particularly for who will sit the Iron Throne, permitting for the likelihood that there received’t be one.
Writing in regards to the shift, OddsShark notes a number of theories linking Bran to the Night King, though I’m unsure how these make Bran extra more likely to lead the Seven Kingdoms. Beyond Bran, Jon and Dany are nonetheless fairly closely favored, and Sansa and Gendry each moved up a pair spots.
Should you seek the advice of these odds when inserting your Game of Thrones-related bets? It’s as much as you. Personally, I like my Hot Pie concept.
